do i need my xp codes to upgrade to windows 7 with the upgrade pack?

I have xp running on my laptop but do not have the product code for it(went away for a month and my mother threw out my laptop box that had all the codes in it). I saw that they have a family pack http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/computer-accessories/windows-7-home-premium-upgrade-family-pack/580581 . Do I need the product code to do this upgrade from xp to 7? I dont want to buy the home edition because it is 50 bucks more

you do not need but you need to make sure your xp is installed and activated before trying to install win7 upgrade version.

You can get your xp key by using belarc advisor or jellybean

you WILL need that key if for whatever reason you need to reinstall your upgrade version at a later date.
